About the Author
Hello friends,
My name is Damien Gietzen. I am a 21 year old student at Wayne State University. I am currently pursuing a career in the Optometry field. While I have a brief and relatively new rhetorical background, I feel I have a strong skill set that allows me to confidently work my way through rhetorical exercises as well as educational and practical, real-world discussions. My biggest flaw when it comes to writing would definitely have to be my indecisiveness on my stances. Throughout the Fall 2011 semester I have become stronger and stronger in that area thanks to my ENG 1020 class. I have also improved my researching skills and my ability to critically analyze subject matter. I have perused through a very broad selection of topics, while writing this semester. I have touched on such topics as digital advertising, America's culture through unconventional means, and even the definition of life and when you can call someone "alive". I believe that through these exercises as well as the teaching from my instructor Jared Grogan, I have become a stronger writer and have also become much more intelligent when it comes to analyzing controversial topics. My hope is that I continue to grow as a writer and develop my skills even more as I grow and move forward with my life. My goal for this site is to gain support for the legalization of marijuana as a way to relieve our economic woes and to portray marijuana in a good light as it rightfully should be. I hope you all are able to look through the site, learn a few things and possibly change your viewpoint on this subject.
